It seems a person’s ability, or inability, to chew may determine their chances of developing dementia. It seems patients with tooth loss develop dementia, at a higher ate, than those patients who still have the ability to chew properly.
This is why Dr. Biderman is always stressing to his patients, the importance of maintaining their normal schedule of getting their teeth looked at, and cleaned properly. Many of the problems research is digging up today, can be avoided altogether by maintaining disciplined oral hygiene on a daily basis, and visiting Dr. B on a regular basis.
