I know, it sounds like the start of a very bad joke, but this, apparently, seems to be the case. Scientists have founds little pieces of wood attached to a 1.2 million year old tooth, leading them to believe that these “cavemen,” were using some kind of a toothpick to help clear their teeth.

The findings continue with researchers finding these particular humans ate everything raw. Fire must have not been discovered yet, which is why insects pieces were found on these teeth as well. But even all those years ago, people knew to use objects to clear their teeth – amazing.
